A woman and her vision board

Day 05: A Shift in Focus

It’s been a week since my last post, and I’ve spent some of that time thinking deeply about the direction of this blog. Writing daily is a beautiful goal, but it’s also been a challenge to keep up with when life gets in the way. I don’t want my love for writing—or this space—to feel like a burden. So, today marks a fresh chapter: a gentle revamp of the blog into something that feels more sustainable and true to me.

Going forward, two of the focus here will be on romance and book reviews—two things that spark joy and endless curiosity in my heart. But I’m also permitting myself to go at my own pace. I don’t need to read a book or watch a movie every single day just to produce content. Instead, I want to savor the stories I encounter and reflect on them in a way that feels meaningful, not rushed.

Romance, in particular, is a genre I’m drawn to for its warmth, complexity, and ability to make us believe in the beauty of human connection. Whether it’s a slow-burn novel that tugs at my heartstrings or a cheesy rom-com that makes me laugh out loud, there’s always something to explore. I want this blog to be a place where I can celebrate those moments and share them with you.

I’m also excited to dive deeper into book reviews—not just to recommend stories but to discuss what makes them resonate (or not). Whether it’s a thoughtful reflection on a character, a critique of a trope, or just a gush-fest about an unforgettable plot twist, I want to create posts that are as enjoyable to read as they are for me to write.

The New Direction

Interestingly, this shift was inspired by a book I recently finished reading. It encouraged me to ask deeper questions about my interests and what I truly want to share with the world. I realized that answering these questions could help me not just with blogging, but also with finding my path for content creation. Here’s a glimpse into that thought process:

  1. What are you good at?
  2. What do you like doing?
  3. What is your favorite hobby?
  4. What would you do with your life if you had $50,000 deposited into your bank account every month and money was not an issue?
  5. What books are you unable to put down when you’re reading them?
  6. In what area do you have exceptional memory/recall?
  7. When you have extra money, what do you spend it on?
  8. When you go to a shopping mall, what stores do you typically wander into?
  9. What will keep you up at night if you think about it right before you go to bed?
  10. What kind of books do you read?
  11. When you have conversations with others, what do you steer the conversations towards?
  12. What do you always make time for?
  13. What do you like to do that others might consider work?
  14. How do you spend your free time?
  15. What gifts do you ask for on holidays?

This exercise reminded me that content creation should be a reflection of what genuinely excites me—not a checklist of tasks to complete. Romance and book reviews are my starting points, but I’m giving myself the freedom to evolve as I go.

This isn’t about starting over; it’s about evolving. I’m letting go of the pressure to keep up with daily output and instead embracing a rhythm that feels productive but also kind to myself. I want this space to remain a joy, not a chore.

To those of you who’ve been following along, thank you for sticking with me. Here’s to creating a blog that feels like home—a place to talk about love, books, and everything in between, one post at a time.
